Kristen Tourville received her Bachelor of Music from Vanderbilt University in 2005 as a student of Dr. Carolyn Huebl and Crystal Plohman. While in Nashville, TN, she also studied under fiddlers Buddy Spicher, Bobby Hicks, Randy Elmore, Mark Wood, and Daniel Carwile. While pursuing classical studies as well as traditional fiddling techniques, she was a member of both the Vanderbilt symphony and varioius classical quartets as well as the founder of the Vanderbillies, a bluegrass fiddling trio.
Leading an active and varied musical life, Kristen has performed for varioius functions on the Nashville music scene and has also played on the Grand Ole Opry with Ray Price, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Asleep At The Wheel. She has instructed privately for over 8 years as well as workshops at several fiddle camps. When she is not touring with Ray Price, Kristen teaches at the Wyatt Violin Shop in Independence, Mo.
